Afro Picks was founded by Notthingham, UK based trio, sisters Gemma and Nicola Gilzeane and Nicola’s partner, Joe Dakin. The sisters of European – Jamaican decent and Dakin of European- Barbadian decent, saw a need for a multi-purpose product that would enrich our natural hair quality. Check out my review below!

What makes any oil great? Is it the properties, scent or ability to penetrate the hair follicles? For me it’s about how well it holds up as a sealant and whether or not it can give my hair that rich glossy look in the sun. Today I will be reviewing Afro Pick’s Every-Oil. This is a sponsored review, however, opinions and comments are 100% mine and I was not paid to do this review.

Afro Pick’s Every Oil is labeled as multi-use hair oil especially targeted for use for the following:
- Daily Oil
- Scalp Oil
- Hot Oil treatment
- Intensive treatment
Ingredients: Limanthes Alba Seed Oil, CrambeAbyssinica Oil, SesasumIndicum Seed Oil, Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil, OpuntiaFicus-Indica Seed Oil, Citrus AurantiumDulcis Oil, Tacopheral, Citrus Aurantifolia Oil, Rosemarinus, Officinalis Extract, Limonen, Lianlool, Citral
Prickly Pear Seed Oil– light and non-greasy oil that will moisturize the hair shaft without weighing it down or feeling heavy. An excellent source of essential fatty acids, it is superb at hydrating very dry and damaged hair.
Crambe Seed oil – has superior stability compared to other oils and this combined with its enhanced slip properties make it an ideal natural alternative to mineral oils and silicones. Crambe Seed Oil is an Omega-9 fatty acid that helps to give a glossy shine to hair, sealing moisture into the hair shaft stopping further drying.
Sesame Seed Oil – contains natural sun filters to protect the hair from UV light.
Meadowfoam Seed Oil – coats the hair shaft and helps repair structurally damaged and brittle hair whilst maintaining the hydration levels of the hair. It penetrates the hair shaft exceptionally well to assist detangling, making it an excellent alternative to silicone.
Camellia Seed Oil – contains antioxidants and polyphenols which work to protect oxidation as well as enriching the scalp with vitamins A, E, D and K. Traditionally used in Japan by the Geishas, this oil gives shine, softness and smoothness to the hair.
Blood Orange Essential Oil – is intensely sweet and fresh and the essential oil comes from Spain.
Rosemary Essential Oil – stimulates cell division and dilates blood vessels which, in turn, stimulate hair follicles into producing new hair growth.
- Does a great job at sealing in moisture
- Gives a nice sheen
- Easy to use applicator bottle
- Healthy combination of oils
- Can also be used on the skin
- If constantly used as a hot oil/intensive treatment, 3.36 ounces would not suffice
Ways I Used The Oils
Daily Oil: As directed, I used 2-3 drops of Every-Oil to the length of my hair daily on both dry and damp hair.

Scalp Oil: My favorite oil to use on my scalp is usually coconut oil but of late I have been noticing a slight irritation when used on my scalp. After receiving Every-Oil, I decided to give my cherished coconut oil a rest. I parted my hair into four sections after washing and using the applicator nozzle, I applied the oil to my scalp and massaged. There was no itching or build-up.
Sealant: After moisturizing my hair, I added a small amount of Every-Oil to the ends and length of my hair. Not only did it successfully seal the moisture in but it added a lovely sheen to my tresses.
Hot Oil Treatment: Used about 30ml of Every-Oil with a generous amount of coconut and olive oil on dry hair as a pre-poo treatment.
I did not do an intensive hair treatment as directed on the box, simply because I do not like to add oils to my shampoo or conditioner. I prefer to do separate oil rinses or hot oil treatments.
The very first thing that had me sold on this product was the bottle. Oil is a very tricky substance to apply to the hair and if used incorrectly can be very messy. Every-Oil’s bottle comes with a handy pump and applicator nozzle that dispenses tiny bursts of oil with each pump. Quick, easy and mess free, this bottle is also reusable. The thoughts that went into such great packaging must be commended.

I do wish the scent was a bit more appealing and the amount of oil was at least 5 ounces for the cost of one bottle. Apart from that, I really do like this product and if the price range was between US $18-20 for the 100ml, I would purchase with my own money and even add to my list of favorite hair products.

Price: £14.99 (US $25.70) for 100ml and £9.99 (US $17.13) for 50ml.
