The Saint Lucia Jazz festival was born out of the idea of improving the country’s tourism statistics during the off peak month of May and also to market the island to a broader cross-section of the tourist market. Despite a rocky start, the festival has grown from year to year and has seen performances from legendary performers such as Grover Washington Jr., Angelique Kidjo, Angie Stone, Chanté Moore and Kenny Lattimore to name a few.
To keep up with the changing times, the festival has taken on a broader artistic direction and has been rebranded: The Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival. This year marks its 22 year of existence. Over the 13 day festival, April 30-May13, the shows will take place across the island including the historic and picturesque Pigeon Island National Landmark. The lineup reflects an eclectic mix of Jazz, R&B, Reggae and Pop and is sure to pull in the masses….a definite add to your calendar, or even your bucket list!
